Binance restores withdrawals for more Ethereum, Solana tokens after $6.3B hack

by John Paterson

Binance has restored withdrawals for dozens of additional cryptocurrencies on Ethereum and Solana as the exchange continues reopening services following the $6.3 billion hack on October 29.

Summary

  • Binance has restored withdrawals for 51 additional tokens across Ethereum and Solana, including LINK, SHIB, ONDO, BONK and TRUMP.
  • The exchange had earlier resumed withdrawals for five stablecoins on Ethereum, bringing the total number of assets restored on the network on November 3 to 36.
  • Binance is reopening withdrawals in phases based on user demand and security checks, with additional assets planned across BNB Smart Chain, XRP Ledger, Sui and other networks.
  • The exchange said it had replenished approximately 95% of the assets affected by the October 29 hack and would cover the remaining losses without passing them on to customers.

In its November 3 recovery announcement, Binance said the latest phase would begin at 04:00 UTC, with withdrawals becoming available progressively as each asset and network passed security checks.

The exchange subsequently confirmed that withdrawals had resumed for 31 additional assets on Ethereum and 20 on Solana, following an earlier update that restored access to five stablecoins on Ethereum.

Binance first resumed withdrawals for Bitcoin and several other cryptocurrencies across 15 blockchain networks on November 1.

Binance restores withdrawals for 51 more assets on Ethereum and Solana

According to Binance’s latest X update, Ethereum withdrawals have resumed for Ethena (ENA), Ethena USDe (USDE), Pendle (PENDLE), Worldcoin (WLD), Chainlink (LINK), Shiba Inu (SHIB), Ondo (ONDO) and Quant (QNT).

Other supported assets include ZRO, FET, ETHFI, REZ, JASMY, STRK, POL, BLUR, WBETH and several smaller cryptocurrencies.

On Solana, users can now withdraw tokens including PUMP, RENDER, RAY, TRUMP, PENGU, JUP, PYTH, BONK, WIF and JTO. The list includes USDT, FDUSD and other Solana-based assets.

Earlier on Tuesday, Binance confirmed that withdrawals had resumed for RLUSD, USD1, TUSD, FDUSD and XUSD on Ethereum, bringing the number of assets restored on that network during the day to 36.

The November 3 recovery plan covers several other blockchains, including BNB Smart Chain, XRP Ledger, Sui, Arbitrum, Optimism, Tron and Base.

Among the planned additions are RLUSD on XRP Ledger, USDC and HAEDAL on Sui, and ZEN, MIRA, HOME and AWE on Base.

The BNB Smart Chain list includes BTC, ETH, XRP, ADA, LTC, DOGE and LINK, alongside several stablecoins and all bSTOCKS products.

When will Binance restore the remaining withdrawals?

Binance has not announced a fixed completion time for the remaining cryptocurrencies included in its recovery schedule.

The exchange said it was prioritizing tokens based on withdrawal demand over the previous week, while individual network and asset combinations must pass separate security and operational checks before becoming available.

Users have been advised to check the withdrawal page or network status page to confirm whether their selected cryptocurrency is supported.

Binance warned that some transactions could take longer than usual because of increased traffic. Customers whose withdrawals fail have been asked to wait briefly before trying again.

Deposit services remain operational and are unaffected by the withdrawal restrictions.

The gradual reopening follows comments from Binance co-founder and co-CEO Yi He, who addressed withdrawal concerns on November 2.

He said the exchange was prioritizing the security of its operating environment before restoring normal access to customer funds.

Binance replenishes 95% of assets affected by the hack

Binance said it had replenished approximately 95% of the $6.3 billion in cryptocurrencies stolen during the October 29 hack by November 1, up from 90% on October 31 and 80% on October 30.

As crypto.news previously reported, the exchange completed reserve verification for ten major cryptocurrencies on November 2, allowing customers to independently check whether their holdings were backed by sufficient reserves.

The assets covered include BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD and ZEC.

According to Binance, the remaining 5% consists of less liquid cryptocurrencies that are taking longer to purchase in the quantities needed to replace the stolen holdings.

The exchange has used its Secure Asset Fund for Users, Futures Insurance Fund and corporate treasury resources to finance the purchases, while committing to absorb the losses without passing them on to customers.

Binance has separately pledged to restore its SAFU emergency reserve to approximately $1 billion after drawing on the fund during the recovery.

The company plans to take another Proof of Reserves snapshot on November 4, covering more cryptocurrencies than the ten included in its October 31 verification. Generating the accompanying cryptographic proof is expected to take approximately 40 to 50 hours, according to its November 2 recovery update.
